For hundreds of years, parquet has been known as a convenient and beautiful floor covering. The start was taken in Europe, where craftsmen began to lay out original drawings on the floor from planks, or staves. Quickly enough, the parquet migrated to castles and palaces. In Russia, this coating appeared in the XVI century and is still one of the most popular types of wood flooringalthough expensive.
One of the largest suppliers of raw materials for parquet production in Russia is the timber industry holding Segezha Group. One of the main missions of the company is to protect the environment during the harvesting and processing of wood. Segezha Group of Companies was one of the first to start manufacturing parquet coatings in the CIS.
Over time, parquet coatings appeared in several layers. Strictly speaking, they are not 100% parquet; rather, they can be called its substitute.
Natural or analog?
These strong, durable and heat-resistant flooring materials can be made from natural wood or multilayer. The second category relates to engineering coverage, that is, a budget analogue of parquet. Types of natural parquet:
- Piece, executed in the form of separate levels;
- Palace, which is a variety of piece. Also called artistic, due to complex drawings;
- Massive, consisting of a single piece of wood.
Derived Options:
- Parquet board formed from several layers of wood;
- Stacked (mosaic), completed from small dies;
- Board, made of boards (boards), the upper layer of which are small planks - rivets.
Parquet
The most popular. It is produced in the form of wooden dies made of solid wood, having spikes and grooves on the sides and on the end for better connection during assembly. Its service life and cost depends on the manufacturing technology, thickness and quality of the starting material. The coating is durable and maintainable.
Palace parquet
One of the most expensive, since up to 80 different types of wood are used in its production. To be completely precise, art parquet is, rather, a technology for laying patterned piece parquet. His drawing consists of planks of various shapes, textures and colors. From the parquet flooring you can lay out true masterpieces of flooring, resistant to unstable temperature and humidity.
Solid board
The highest quality and most expensive coating made from solid wood. By design, the array is similar to piece parquet, differs mainly only in dimensions and the presence of a four-sided castle connection. An all-massive parquet is convenient in that it can be laid directly on the logs. The service life reaches 100 years.
Shield parquet
It belongs to the engineering community, since the planks of natural wood are glued to plywood panels or the base of chipboard. It is executed in the form of a square, when laying requires a clear exposure of the angle of 90 °. Be sure to varnish.
Stacked parquet
It is a subspecies of the shield, but more diverse in color and texture. The coating is a small square planks assembled from small shields. The second name - mosaic - received for the opportunity to create a variety of patterns. To simplify the installation of the front side, the parquet is glued to the paper. That is, the drawing is already assembled. The wrong side may be protected by a rubber or foam layer.
Multilayer board
According to the name, it contains several working layers:
- Top layer - varnish or wax coating;
- Solid or multiband wood;
- The basis of waste wood processing or inexpensive wood material;
- Stabilization layer.
On the edges of such boards are made ridges and grooves for connection. Like a massive one, it is laid on logs or a solid base base. Not subject to looping.
Perhaps these are the most popular and common types of wooden flooring currently in use.
