Many people prefer to celebrate the New Year at home, watching TV and ritual eating tangerines. Others fly to where it is sunny and warm year-round. Still others visit ancient cities and admire the beauties of architecture. But there is a fourth type of people who love adventure and physical activity.
The tourist portal Tvil.ru tells about the tastes and habits of the latter. The service experts analyzed the paid applications for reservation of accommodation from December 30, 2019 to January 8, 2020 and identified the most popular ski resorts in Russia.
6. Krasnaya Polyana, Krasnodar Territory
Rest will cost: 22,000 rubles. for 6.5 nights
Open the list of the best ski resorts in Russia in 2019-2020. just three complexes in Krasnaya Polyana:
- "Rosa Khutor";
- "Mountain carousel";
- and a place with the speaking name "Gazprom".
All three complexes are created with the latest tourism and sports science. All three deserve the adjective "chic" in the description. All three boast excellent tracks, and the Rosa Khutor resort even hosted competitions during the Sochi Olympics.
For beginners, there are flat and gentle slopes, and experienced athletes can try themselves on serious red and black slopes. And for those who do not want to ride on a thumb track, there are many opportunities for freeride.
An important aspect: the popular ski resorts of Adler are easily accessible. There is an international airport in Sochi, and from there you can drive to Esto-Sadka, where Gazprom and Mountain Carousel are located, either by car or by bus. And to the "Rosa Khutor" generally runs its own train.
5. Bannoe, Bashkiria
Rest will cost: 9000 rubles. for 2.5 nights
This resort is located in very picturesque places, and the lake of the same name is even given the status of a nature monument of federal significance. Thanks to the pond, you can relax in Bannoye all year round: in summer, beach and fishing fans gather there, and in winter, ski lovers.
The ski season lasts from November to May. The staff of the “Bathhouse” does not expect favors from nature and maintains the tracks in working condition with the help of snow cannons.
In total, the Banny track is divided into two parts.
- The large complex is designed for "large" - experienced athletes and amateurs. They can enjoy skiing on 4 tracks 2.5 km long (elevation difference of about half a kilometer).
- And in the Small complex beginners gather, for whom 2 easy and comfortable tracks are intended. There is even a special place for those who want to put the child on skis.
- And in order to minimize the time between skating, the most modern lifts and cable cars operate in both complexes. The path from the bottom to the top will take a maximum of five minutes.
Near the mountain complex there are several hotels, there is a sanatorium, a recreation center with its own swimming pool. And if you don’t feel like seeing people (except on the tracks), you can rent a cottage or a guest house nearby.
4. Sverdlovsk region
Rest will cost: 3414 rub. for 3.5 nights
Siberians love to ride on the slopes of the Fun Mountains. From a geological point of view, it’s rather underexposed (a rare mountain will reach 700 meters above sea level).
Therefore, the tracks on Ezhovaya Gora, where the popular ski resort is located, are not as dizzying and exciting as in Krasnaya Polyana. Their length is 1,500 meters, and the vertical drop is small - 300 meters.
However, the resort is famous not for technical complexity, but for the comfort of a European level, and its convenient location near the "Siberian capital". It is easy to get there both on your own or rental car, and by public transport. There is an excellent quality road from the city to the resort and buses run.
Five resort tracks are divided into:
- one for beginners;
- two for those who have already mastered skiing;
- and two more difficult for veterans.
And if you are bored with skiing, there are places nearby where you can have a tasty lunch in a pleasant company, as well as dance and have fun. And all this will cost relatively little money, because the resort "Ezhovaya Gora" is one of the most inexpensive ski resorts in Russia.
3. Sheregesh, Kemerovo region
Rest will cost: 12044 rub. for 3 nights
The history of the Sheregesh resort dates back to Soviet times, when under the auspices of the Committee on Sports of the USSR, a sports complex was built specifically for the Spartakiad in the village of the same name.
A lot of time has passed since then, there is no longer the Soviet Union, the generation has changed, but Sheregesh still attracts mountain lovers.
You can go down from the slopes of the four mountains, which are divided into three zones depending on the complexity. There are several tracks in total, and their length varies from 700 meters to almost four kilometers.
The degree of steepness is also different - from a small 300 meters to almost 680 meters. But the main attraction of the resort is the abundance of snow, the thickness of which in some areas is an impressive 4 meters. So Sheregesh has long been a favorite destination for freeriders. They have where to turn around.
It is not surprising that with such natural data the resort is developing rapidly. He began with a modest 30 thousand people a year, and now operates with numbers of a million guests. And to get to the resort it was even more convenient, there was even a railway.
2. Moscow region
Rest will cost: 6405 rubles. for 3 nights
Looking at a map of the Moscow Region, it’s hard to believe that there might be a place for a ski resort. The elevation differences, to put it mildly, do not inspire: there are only small hills available where you can easily climb in with a walking step.
But if there are no ski slopes donated by nature, they can always be organized manually. So in the suburbs, like mushrooms after rain, almost two dozen ski resorts have grown. The most popular of them are Sorochany, Yakhroma, Volen and Chulkovo.
The Moscow region is the second most popular area among Russian ski lovers. What attracts them in the first place is that getting to the sports complexes of the Moscow Region is easy and simple either by train or by their own transport. The level of accommodation and service has long reached the notorious "European".
The tracks are simple, but not all the same are born by professionals. In skiing, as in any other activity, experience is important. And training on comfortable routes for beginners in the suburbs is easy and simple. Especially for children, since there are special instructors in local resorts specializing in training young skiers.
1. Leningrad region
Rest will cost: 3414 rub. for 5 nights
The relief of the Leningrad region is slightly more diverse than the Moscow. It can even boast of Kivisyurya mountain, whose height is 203 meters. It is not surprising that on its slope is located one of the most popular ski resorts in Russia - Igora.
Local routes (five in total) are the longest in the entire region, some of them exceed a kilometer long. And around the so-visited all-weather ski resort, many tourist amenities have grown: cafes, restaurants, there is even a spa and a cinema. The place is very popular, but if you are an extrovert, this is rather a plus. Introverts are advised to go to "Igor" in the morning on weekdays, since it’s possible to get there from St. Petersburg in just an hour.
"Pukhtolova Gora" is the best choice for beginners or those who want to put their child on skis. The elevation is only 50 meters. The tracks are short, so that the child, even in the most unpleasant development of events, will not be able to develop great speed and, as a result, get injured.
Prices for Pukhtolovaya Gora are lower than those of Igora, however there is less entertainment - a cafe where you can eat densely with children, and a bathhouse. If you are too lazy to drag back and forth from St. Petersburg, you can rent inexpensive housing.
But Korobitsyno - this is more likely for the pros. In total, three resorts are located on the slopes of the Karelian Mountains, and all three of them are perfectly equipped with everything necessary. There are many tracks (for example, "Golden Mountain" boasts a dozen) of different difficulty levels - from green to black.
And, despite the modest heights, some of them are complex enough to please experienced sports lovers. There is a rental of equipment, you can arrange classes with instructors. Hotels, as noted by vacationers, are excellent. True, everything will cost a little more expensive than in Igor and Pukhtolovaya Gora, and it takes about twice as long to get from St. Petersburg. But for living and corporate events - a great option.
